متن کاملA Typology of Architectural and Graphic Primitives in Freehand Representations
9.1 The architect’s papers Despite being a mixed and transitional case (Goodman 1976), visual architectural representations have been extremely productive and expressive design tools. Drawings have replaced buildings as the primary product of the architect since the Renaissance, in what appears to be an attempt to elevate the status of the master builder to that of a scientific or artistic desi...
متن کاملIMAGE-BASED MODELLING OF ARCHITECTURAL SITES: THE iWitness APPROACH
This paper discusses image-based modelling and the generation of textured 3D object models. The main focus of the presentation is upon a low-cost, easy-to-use photogrammetric system which can handle hidden object parts and model curves in object space. The concept includes the following stages: first, measurement of points, lines and curves; second, selection of a polygon which describes a pote...
متن کاملSimple Shared Object An Architectural Pattern for Simple Object Sharing
This paper describes a pattern for object sharing across different address spaces. The pattern is intended for applications where collaborators on clients across a network work closely together. The Simple Shared Object pattern allows distributed applications to create, modify and delete shared objects on a corresponding server. The clients have copies of shared objects they use in their own ad...
متن کاملArchitectural Support to Exploit Commutativity in Shared-Memory Systems
Parallel systems are limited by the high costs of communication and synchronization. Exploiting commutativity has historically been a fruitful avenue to reduce traffic and serialization. This is because commutative operations produce the same final result regardless of the order they are performed in, and therefore can be processed concurrently and without communication. Unfortunately, software...
